#Call to arms nerf full

I don't want it gone or denatured because it's a very cool mechanic to have in Hearthstone, but I think an increase in cost wouldn't be a bad thing, especially since it's by design a Control card. It's a mechanically fun and rewarding card (coming from a guy who liked a lot 'Math Warrior') that stimulates thoughtful play, but if a 2 mana cost card that can answer cleanly and hard counter a busted 4 mana card (Call to Arms) isn't busted also, I don't know what is. I personally would add Defile to Warlock. You build anti-aggro decks around a board clear and taking board back with a big minion, but if they have Tarim, they flip the board right back and you often don't have the health to scratch back into it. as long as he doesn't have Tarim, I got this. Decks right now are a bunch of meh cards, a few good cards and a couple insane power level cards.ДЄs someone who plays a lot of control decks, I actually find CTA less problematic than Tarim. Dire Wolf Alpha and juggler are decent cards, but really pretty meh, same can be said a third to half of the cards in warlock, spiteful and secret mage. It's the way Blizzard has built the game. A card the level of CTA needs to be there to combat void daddy and spiteful or the meta just becomes imbalanced with another deck being the dominant deck and we complain about that deck. ALL the T1 / T2 decks have key cards that are of an insane power level and a bunch of cards that are pretty 'meh' power level. I completely agree that CTA is of an insane power level, but you can't really nerf it in a vacuum. Take away CTA and aggro only has secret mage, which becomes the only deck that reliably keeps spiteful priest in check. they're all built around 2 cards of insane power level. Maybe you could argue that Control priest doesn't have two super OP cards. Spiteful priest: Spiteful and DuskbreakerД¬ontrol Priest: Duskbreaker and Drakonid Operative Every deck is built around two cards that are WAY over normal power level, that if removed destroy the deck and make it completely non-viable.Д¬ontrol / Cube Warlock: Void Daddy and Lackey Needs it's mana cost adjusted to offset this.ДЄll of the meta decks are this way though. The lowroll of pulling 3 one cost minions will still be valuable with the synergies that paladin has and the fact that it thins out the deck. So what's fair here? I think at the minimum Call to Arms should see a nerf to 5 mana. Meanwhile, Call to Arms might not be the finisher that CotW was, but with it being playable as early as turn 3, it can effect the outcome of the game even moreso than CotW.

Call of the Wild was nerfed because it was such a huge value and often just finished the game for hunter as early as turn 7.

I feel both cards ultimately present the same problem for hearthstone, creating a wide board out of nowhere for a discounted mana cost. The downside to Call to Arms is that you might draw all of your low cost minions before playing it, making it a dead card. The downside to running pre-nerf Call of the Wild was that it was an expensive card at 8 mana, especially for hunter.

This allows paladin to more reliably draw into cards like ] or ]ДЄdditionally, while the minions you pull will be random, you have full control of which minions you put in your deck, allowing for combos like ] into cheap taunts like ] At 4 mana it enables aggro pally to push a huge amount of early game tempo (3-6 mana worth of value assuming minions available in deck) all while thinning your deck. It was changed to 9 mana because this was too much value for one card, and effectively killed off midrange hunters which had been surviving on the card's strength at the time.Д¬all to Arms, meanwhile, while different than CotW (CotW is a standalone card, CtA requires you to put 2 or less cost minions in your deck) creates similar value. When ] was first released, it was 8 mana, giving you effectively 9 mana worth of cards (except somewhat stronger due to the guarantee of all 3 companions). ] is a 3 mana spell that has been a backbone of hunter decks for a while. Well I think that argument is bunk, and it comes down to the value of combining cards at a discount. I've heard arguments that ] isn't too strong/doesn't need a nerf.
